Westfield has revealed that the future site of a £320 million commercial property will be turned into a temporary urban garden.

A deal has been agreed by the company with Yorkshire Forward and Bradford Council to house a temporary park on the site until the plans for it to become a business property are continued.

Nick Huntington, development director for Westfield Bradford, stated the area is to be transformed into an urban green space, saying "Westfield continues to work on the wider redevelopment of the site, but this project will ensure the area is transformed into an attractive, safe and dynamic space."

He added the news is the result of discussions carried out between the company and Bradford City Council about a way the site could be used to the benefit of the local community.

Westfield owns shopping centres across the UK at locations including Shepherds Bush, London and Derby.
