As yet another multi-million pound development looks set to get underway in Stoke-on-Trent, the boom in those in higher education could be creating a demand for such accommodation.
Santander has confirmed it is assisting a project in the city that will provide £5.9 million worth of facilities for students at the University of Staffordshire.
The purpose-built living quarters will be created in a boutique style and are just a short walk from the university's main campus.
Whether it is constructing new accommodation or snapping up existing housing, renting buildings to students could be a financially-rewarding investment property strategy.
This is a view that was expressed last month by Marcus Roberts, director of student investment and development at Savills.
He said buyers should consider location and amenities if they are to maximise their return on investment.
